My first AI agent: scans Reddit, sends me business ideas every morning

Built in 3 hours: an AI tool that searches Reddit for user pain points, scores them by business potential, and emails me a daily report. A simple but powerful way to spot ideas worth building.

My first AI agent
Today, during a quiet afternoon, I decided to create my very first AI agent. But I didn’t want it to be another pointless "AI assistant". I thought: I want an agent that will regularly suggest new business ideas. And as we all know, the best business ideas come from solving real needs, frustrations, and problems.
You can find these in many ways: talking to people, solving your own issues, or browsing the web for user complaints and questions. The most promising areas are usually tech-adjacent—larger markets, often easier to scale (though also more competitive).
But why scroll manually when I can build an agent that does it for me? My AI agent scans selected subreddits every morning, analyzes common problems, and evaluates their frequency, difficulty, and potential profitability. It stores the results in a database and sends me a concise email report.
Why Reddit? It still has a free API 😄. Next step? Public Facebook groups. There’s no API there, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out.
The result? Surprisingly effective! The first reports already surfaced a few interesting insights. Not everything is perfect yet, and I still verify some evaluations manually, but I can already see this will be a valuable tool.
